What a fun week with the grandkids. They think our new motorhome is their big play house. And of course it is! We went to the beach at Ocean Shores in Washington. Sullivan is such a little man growing to be a big smart boy. Owen holds his own with no problem- he is the climber, runner, and try something new guy. Finn looks alot like Owen when he was smaller but is growning into his own special looks. They are one BUSY family.

Spent a wonderful week in Texas with Becca and Steve. Becca and I drove through Texas to the gulf coast and stayed at the beach and played in the warm water. The gulf coast is absolutely beautiful. Fun fun

Montana is beautiful. It took us 10 hours in the motor home to get there but it was worth it. Kasey and Eric's house is really nice and big. It is out in a quiet little town. Of course we took in the shopping of Great Falls!

Just finished a fun weekend run with a great group of friends. For those of you who have never got to run a relay of 140+ miles it may sound sick when I say we spent 28+ hours with 6 people in a van --running, eating, sleeping, sweating and the best part laughing! Yes Van 2 I would do it again in a heartbeat! Thanks Suzy, Sue Dog, Torrie, Corrin, Jason, and Sue Quinn for getting it all together!

I am coming to some closure with an unfair practice that happened to me at work after 22 years with the district. Still there for the kids that I love and that is why I do what I do--but seeing these fun faces of summer helps me realize this is what life is all about!--Not the who and whats of work!

We had a wonderful snow day today no april fool joke!

Things are going well with the knee recovery. I became crutch free on march 24:). I have started my rehab with lifting and swimming amazing that there is no muscle in the leg after 6 weeks on crutches. I am lucky--keep telling myself that. While at home in the sitting position decided to make a few things for the family. Of course shopping at Jo-Anns was my first crutchless trip. I love finding fun material for Becca's scrubs and the grandsons some fun shirts.

Just a little set-back

Having just a little set back on my meniscus surgery. Thought I was going in for a quick fix of the meniscus tears and found a few more things he wanted to fix. I am glad and hope that this will help me out in the future activities I want to do--but right know it is 6 weeks of crutches and NO weight on the right leg. I am trying to be a good patient--Hope to show you a pretty knee in 6 weeks.

OK every September we start thinking about the new calendar we are going to make for our bosses for their special day in October. Years ago and many other secretaries ago it started out with just a picture of their favorite secretaries to a full blown 12 month calendar of pictures. We try a theme and go with it. This year--well we thought it was hunting or camo wear or not sure how the whole crown and queen thing fits in. But it was a whole lot of fun hanging out with the other secretaries and taking some fun pictures. Ronda shot over 300 pictures so this is just a few of Girls--Guns--and Fun!

This had to be one of the most bitter sweet dinners ever. Beckie and I took our girlfriend Renee out for dinner at Wildhorse. Renee and her husband moved to Ariz this Weekend. I hope all of you have the chance to have a good friend that you can laugh, cry, disagree, shop, and just hang with. I can not put into words how much I will miss her. She has the most giving heart of any one I know in the whole world. I feel like a part of my life has came to a big stop. There will be many miles between us but we will never be apart--I love you girlfriend and miss you!

Hood to Coast

Well another fun time with some new friends. I have decided that the Hood to Coast is not all about the run it is about the friends that you have and the 48 hours you spend with them laughing, smelling, running, eating, crying, hugging, and sharing pain all in a six to seven person suburban. Until you have did a Hood to Coast relay race you might find this hard to imagine. The Bond between the runners is an awesome thing. I was the old fart with the slow steady pace and the love to run.

Leg 12--easy?? No it was in Portland and it must have been 90 degrees the time of my run. Ran through lots of housing and business district where not everyone loves the Hood to Coast like I do. And it was long!

Leg 24--It was dark and out in the country but it was cool and i think it was about 4 in the morning--almost my regular running time but without my running partner.

Leg 36--my hardest-- I was tired had only slept maybe 1 hour. The run started up a gravel hill had about 2 miles of very steep downhill after that which for a fast young runner would be good, but for this old fart with a bad knee it was very hard. Then they ran you through Seaside and over HWY 101 on this make shift foot bridge which was really steep and the only time I walked in my 3 legs. But when I tried to run down the other side I fell flat on my butt (nothing hurt lots of padding) but my pride. I did continue on and the greatest thing was rounding the corner to run on the sand and seeing the faces of 11 friends all there ready to run in the finish with me. It was great!

Quiet Hot Weekend

Well it has been really hot in P-town this weekend. We have stayed home for most of the weekend and listened to the air run. Grandma came over and we watched the Olympics for hours. I did do a little sewing for the boys while I watched and finished some more cute shirts. I will show pictures when I get the snaps on.

I did go help with a car wash today when it was 102 outside. Our Hood to Coast team does not have a sponsor so we are paying on our own --car wash was fun maybe? but earned a little money to go towards the price of gas and got to know my team members a little better. So when you see the teams running on TV we are team number 765 and will probably finish close to 2 in the afternoon on Saturday. I also get to be the last one that goes across the finish and I am also the oldest on the team!

Well these little pictures are part of what motivates me to keep doing the things I love! Hope all my fam is well I miss you guys--Wedding in just a few weeks and then I will have another wonderful daughter in law! We are truly blessed for all the husbands and wives that have joined our family! Mom

Kasey has been here for the week visiting and it has been great. I don't think she has enjoyed my coughing and Ruby but she has tolerated us both. We both got out our sewing machines and started working on some projects that we needed to finish. I have not sewed clothes since the kids were little BUT I have found a new joy -- these were fun I can't wait to make dresses---but until then I will keep making fun shirts for my guys.

Well turning 54 has it's greatness. Eric said it best when he said it must be a lucky birthday to be born in 1954 and turning 54. Sooooooooo right! I always love talking to all my kids and birthdays are good for that when we take time out of our busy schedules. I am so lucky!

Camila brought the boys to visit for a week and we had alot of fun. I am so lucky to have such a loving daughter- in -law who is a great Mommy and of course these guys are the cutest ever.

OK friends and family I have been training for the Hood To Coast race. Some of my lady friends asked me to run with them and I am so excited. I will be running leg 12 which I have never ran before in all my Hood To Coast races---so I am pumped. My 54 year old body does tell me once in a while to slow down. I have been running in the mornings at 5:15 am with my friend Tori she keeps me moving and motivated I love her. We do run at least 4 times a week and run 4 to 5 miles every time. And of course the big thing is not to much flat running --come on we live in P-town--lots of hills. I am hoping that this ole knee has one more Hood To Coast in it and then I might? retire my running shoes.

For everyone out there keep running through the little pain if it is something that makes you happy!

We just spent a wonderful weekend with Jason, Camila, Kasey, Sullivan, and Owen. It is so fun every fun filled minute. We went to the park, threw rocks in the creek, rode in Grandpa's boat ( while it was docked), swung on the tree, had a birthday party Sully's #2, honored Grandpa Wells with flowers, went for long walks, watched movies, put our hands in cement, went swimming in the pool, had haircuts, went out to breakfast, Sully helped make Cinnamon rolls, watched movies (Cars at least 3 times), read books, played with toys, shopping, and had lots of hugs and kisses. The name of my Blog is so true I LOVE BEING A GRANDMA!

National Scrapbook Day!

Kasey and I had a great time this last weekend. We spent from 10:00am to 10 pm at Hamley's---and no not eating and drinking---But scrapbooking. Renee and Melissa had a class where they helped us make a book and many other projects. It was fun and a great way to spend the day with my daughter and great friends.

Fun Weekend

Just spent a fun COLD weekend in Troy and Moscow. I left early on Friday and went up. Kasey and I went shopping most of the day Friday It was her spring break. She had a softball game on Saturday in Pullman so I went and watched. After they cleaned the snow off the field they could play but it was still windy and very cold. The team had a rough 2 games!!
I stayed with Edwin and Jessi on Saturday night in their cute town house. Eric, Kasey, Edwin, Jessi and myself had pizza and watched a movie. Then there were the brownies that were great! Kasey and I got up Sunday went for a run. It ended up being a little longer than we had planned on. So we celebrated by having coffee and shopping later!
Always love the drive home from visiting my kids because I get a chance to think in a quiet zone and realize that I am the luckiest Mom around with 4 terrific kids who have wonderful husbands, wives, and soon to be wives.
Edwin and Jessi will be married in 5 months from yesterday (I had to tell Edwin!)

Best Spring Break Ever!

Just coming to the end of a great spring break! We stayed home and the kids and grandkids came and visited. Spent so much great time just hanging out. On Monday and Tuesday I did the prep work for the kids to get here which meant telling the dogs that I was going to shampoo carpets and they were going to spend the rest of the week outside snow and all.

Jason, Camila, Sullivan, and Owen came on Thursday and stayed until Sunday. Jason had to go back to work so Camila rode home with Kasey who was going to a baby shower for her good friend in Puyallup. We watched movies, (Surf's Up, Bee movie and August Rush)went for walks, threw rocks in the creek, went swimming at the RAC, had lunch at GP, got hair cuts by the best! and did a lot of eating.

Edwin and Jessi came to visit and hold babies on Friday and stayed until Sunday. It is getting very exciting talking about their wedding plans. Sept. 6 will be here before we know it.

Kasey stopped on her way to Puyallup and while enjoying spring break. Can't wait to see what Kasey's friend thinks about the cute baby things she made for her.

John and I are so lucky to have the time to spend with our kids! We love you all very much and we have came to the conclusion that when we retire we are going to move to a town with a major airport and I am going to work part time there so I can fly to Montana, Texas, Washington and maybe even Colorado. Dad might work too he is not quite sure yet!

I was just downstairs with Dad and said when did our children grow up and leave home--I miss them. Then I got on line and saw the cutest pictures of my sweet grandsons. Just had a great visit with Becca and Steve. Becca came over from LaGrande and stayed 2 days then we drove her back to LaGrande where Steve was. We got them on the plane just before another snow hit town. Our snow is nothing like what Kasey, Eric, Edwin and Jessi are getting in Idaho. I hope to post some pictures of Kasey's snow.
We sure miss having Becca and Steve around--notice anything different about Boo--yes she is not a blonde anymore-- must be the Texas water!

It started snowing today early and has not stopped yet. Of course I had to put the jeep in 4-wheel drive and go play a little. I took Mom for a ride to the store and she was excited. Just had a great weekend with Kasey. She set up the family web page, which i tried working on tonight and could not get on so I will have to wait until she gets home to see what I am doing wrong. We got the wedding dress ready for cleaning and we started working on the thank yous.

Last weekend I spent with Jason, Cam, and Sullivan in Puyallup. We shopped and played. The weather was great--we did miss Kasey! Sullivan is all over the place being a very busy toddler. Of course he is the smartest little boy I know.

On Saturday we went to Becca and Steve's in Hillsboro and spent the day at 23 street shopping and looking. Then on Sunday we went to Saturday market which was awesome. It is so fun hanging out with my family.

While I was gone Dad bought a new boat and Edwin did Round-Up! Kind of glad I was not home for either one. The boat is great and I have only heard one story from the neighbor. Love to all-

It is always fun to see the excitement of the freshmen when they enter the high school for the first time. The secretaries helped cook hamburger for the some 300 kids and staff. Made it through the first day:)

Just spent the weekend with the kids in Moscow. We had a great time seeing Kasey and Edwin's new places. Kasey and Eric live in Troy which has a very peaceful feel to it, until after I went for my run on the path with the beautiful berries that Eric told me the bears like to eat.
